Here it is...the doubt

Hey guys.  Another day in paradise (sorta?).  I miss you!  It's weird not getting texts from you all anymore.  Everyday I look at my phone and remember "oh right, I'm not really around so why would people be asking me to hang out..." But this is beside the point.

I knew it would happen sooner or later.  As the weeks progress, I become less and less sure if I really want to do something like this for the rest of my working life.  My supervisor, Ena, is actually on vacation this week so I'm pretty much free to do anything or help anyone that needs it.  Before last week ended, I asked her if I could just explore the different departments of the company: pattern making, source finding, design, textile design...whatever I want!  One of the problems I find myself running into is that sometimes there's not always something in that field for you to do.  For example, maybe there's no pattern making projects to take care of, but there's certainly some organization they'd like you to do.  Today (and I'm sure tomorrow and Friday) I organized old patterns from previous seasons.  Sometimes I feel like my jobs aren't really seen or recognized as anything important.  Anyone could do them.  You just happen to be the one in the room when they were searching for a lonely intern.  I did, however, get to sit in on a fitting today.  This means that they have a fit model come in (about a size 4) and try on garments until they adjust each measurement to create the perfect fit for the end consumer.  It was actually really interesting to watch.  Every small detail is examined and I'll be darned if those garments don't fit like a glove by the end of 3 or 4 fittings.

Did I mention I was sick last week?  Ahh...I love coming home to a hostel full of 15 other people and hiding out in my room with 6 beds to be sick in.  It was just a cold luckily for me, but if I or anyone had the stomach flu, I might have died.  But I'M GOOD!  phew!  I did get a little overzealous though.  Tuesday I stayed home sick, Wednesday I went back to work, and Thursday I stayed home again because I somewhat relapsed.  Every single person at work is sick.  I knew it was really only a matter of time.  Turns out though (I think) I got sick from the retreat.  A guy went there sick and left for home...but it was too late.  He infected over 10 people in just a few hours.  It was a mess last week.  Nobody showed up to church mid-week, including myself.  Typical recovery, coughing in the middle of the night, stuffy nose.  I'm sure I snore right now.  Perfect!

I went to Central Park on Saturday!  Ahh it was so nice.  I needed to get out and see some nature.  I barely feel like it's fall because I don't see any trees on a regular basis.  Jordan, my fellow intern, and I went on a long walk.  Everywhere we walked we saw movie destinations...which was AWESOME for me, because I'm all about movies.  Here's a couple of the places I walked by and just some other random pictures.

Definitely, Maybe when Ryan Reynolds is about to propose to Elizabeth Banks

Maid in Manhattan when Jennifer Lopez is wearing that white suit?, The Happening when the people start walking backwards and the girl stabs herself in the neck, Definitely Maybe where we find out who the real mother of Abigail Breslin is

Ransom with Mel Gibson

Also, on my way home from church, someone mentioned we were walking by the coffee shop from "You've Got Mail" with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. (He brings the single rose, but then sees her and freaks out)

I saw Looper also! Pretty decent.  Let me know what you think about the ending.  Oh and how you feel about Joseph Gordon Levitt looking like Bruce Willis.  Personally, I was kinda freaked out. :)  Hope you're all doing well.  Contact me! I'd love to hear from you.  My apologies if I don't get back to you immediately. <3
